TILL F. OSTERLÄNGER
GOT IST TOT
This collection responds to the loss of shared belief systems in a secular world shaped by
the idea that God is dead. As rituals disappear, so does a common language of meaning,
leaving the individual disconnected yet searching.
The garments are structured around archetypal figures and ritual gestures—forms of
protection, transformation, and passage that exist across cultures and time. Through
draping, layering, and symbolic surfaces, the body becomes a site of remembrance:
recalling forgotten rituals, collective images, and embodied knowledge.
Rather than restoring religion, the collection reactivates memory. It treats clothing as a
quiet ritual—an act of remembering what once connected the body to something larger
than itself.
