Die Ästhetik der Farblosigkeit –
(“the aesthetics of colorlessness”)
This collection explores the absence of color and its ability to reshape perception and meaning. Drawing from the visual language of black-and-white cinema of the 1920s, it is particularly informed by Fritz Lang’s expressionist film “Metropolis“ (1927).
Rather than using color as a primary expressive tool, the collection investigates how emotion, tension and atmosphere can be communicated through light, shadow and materiality. Surfaces are not decorative, but active carriers of expression: folds, reflections and contrasts replace color as generators of drama.
Through an ongoing exploration of texture and tactility, materials such as glitter, velvet, fur and leather are manipulated to create depth and visual intensity within a strictly monochrome palette. The garments do not reference film directly, but embody its aesthetics through form, surface and movement.
The collection exists entirely in black and white, allowing texture, structure and silhouette to come to the foreground and inviting the viewer to experience fashion through heightened sensory perception.
